Adaptable Recruitments are partnering with a well-established business on the outskirts of Chester to recruit an experienced Financial Controller, to lead and manage the financial operations. This is a key strategic role, responsible for delivering accurate and timely financial insights to support senior leadership in making informed decisions and driving business performance. As a newly created position, it offers a unique opportunity to shape and build financial processes as the business continues to grow.

Responsibilities:

  • Enhance and optimise current processes and procedures.
  • Manage month-end reporting, ensuring accuracy and adherence to deadlines.
  • Partner with the FP&A team to prepare, analyse, and review financial reports, budgets, and forecasts.
  • Ensure full compliance with corporate tax requirements, including the accurate and timely submission of all necessary documentation.
  • Monitor the purchase ledger regularly to guarantee supplier payments are accurate and timely, fostering strong relationships with external stakeholders.
  • Assist the Finance Director with funding strategies, reporting obligations, and other key financial initiatives.
  • Identify and assess potential IT tools or systems to streamline finance operations, enhance efficiency, and improve the quality of reporting.

Skills Required:

  • Fully qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent) with a strong background in financial control and management reporting. Practice-trained candidates are preferred.
  • A minimum of five years' post-qualification experience.
  • Outstanding organisational skills with a keen eye for detail.
  • Proven leadership abilities and experience managing teams.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the confidence to influence stakeholders at all levels.
  • Demonstrated experience in analysing and enhancing systems, processes, and financial strategies.
