Commercial Finance Analyst

Wigan | Hybrid Working | £40,000 + Bonus + Benefits

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a commercially focused finance professional to join a successful and growing business based in Wigan.

This role is ideally suited to an ambitious analyst or management accountant looking to develop their commercial finance career within a fast-paced environment. You'll work closely with operational and commercial stakeholders, helping to drive business performance through insightful analysis, forecasting and decision support.

The Opportunity

Working as part of a high-performing finance team, you will play a key role in supporting commercial and operational functions, providing financial insight that enables informed decision making and helps maximise profitability across the business.

Key Responsibilities

• Produce weekly and monthly management reports and performance analysis.
• Support budgeting, forecasting and financial planning activities.
• Analyse sales, margin and operational performance, identifying key trends and opportunities.
• Deliver meaningful variance analysis and commentary for senior stakeholders.
• Partner with operational, commercial and supply chain teams to support business objectives.
• Monitor departmental expenditure and support cost control initiatives.
• Assist with month-end activities, including accruals and prepayments.
• Support continuous improvement projects, helping to enhance reporting and business processes.

About You

We're keen to speak with candidates who can demonstrate strong analytical skills alongside the ability to communicate financial information effectively to non-finance stakeholders.

You will ideally have:

• Experience within a Finance Analyst, Commercial Finance Analyst, Management Accountant or similar role.
• Strong Excel and data analysis skills.
• Experience working with large data sets and translating financial information into meaningful business insight.
• Knowledge of budgeting and forecasting processes.
• Understanding of accruals and prepayments.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
• A proactive and commercially minded approach to problem solving.
