Interim Systems Accountant

12‑Month Contract | Hybrid Working | £50,000-£60,000 DOE

We are currently recruiting for an Interim Systems Accountant to support the implementation of SAP across its UK finance function. This is a fantastic opportunity for a hands‑on accountant with strong ERP project experience to play a key role in shaping the future of the organisation's financial systems.


The Role

As Interim Systems Accountant, you will work closely with the Finance Director and wider project team to support the rollout of SAP, acting as the link between finance and systems. Responsibilities will include:

  • Supporting the end‑to‑end implementation of SAP, including testing, configuration input, user support and process mapping.
  • Reviewing existing processes and helping design improved finance workflows within the new ERP environment.
  • Assisting with data migration, cleansing and validation activities.
  • Preparing and reviewing management information during transition periods (P&L, balance sheet, cashflow).
  • Providing training and guidance to finance and non‑finance stakeholders on new system functionality.
  • Ensuring reporting requirements and deadlines are met throughout system changeover.
  • Working collaboratively with senior leadership to identify future pressures and opportunities arising from system change.

Ideal Experience

  • Fully qualified accountant (CIMA, ACCA or equivalent).
  • Hands‑on SAP experience - ideally gained in a finance role working directly within the system.
  • Prior involvement in ERP implementation projects (SAP preferred, but other ERP experience also beneficial).
  • Strong management accounts background.
  • Excellent Excel capability, including financial modelling.
  • Confident communicator able to influence stakeholders at all levels.
  • Strong problem‑solver with a proactive, solution‑focused approach.

Salary & Benefits

  • £50,000 - £60,000 per annum (pro rata)

Reporting Line

You will report directly to the Finance Director.
