Management Accountant
Warrington (Office Based)
£45,000 - £55,000
For more than three decades, this organisation has built a reputation for delivering complex, high-quality projects across the North of England. Structured around a variety specialist divisions, it operates as a fast-moving, project-driven business known for its technical expertise, disciplined execution and strong commercial focus.
As the company enters its next phase of growth, it is enhancing its finance function to support that momentum. They are now seeking a Management Accountant who is eager to play a central role in shaping and supporting this continued expansion.
The Opportunity
This is not a role confined to spreadsheets and month-end packs.
They are looking for a commercially sharp, systems-driven Management Accountant who wants to be embedded in how the business truly performs. You'll play a hands-on role in driving financial control, improving visibility and supporting operational leaders with clear, meaningful insight.
Operating in a fast-paced, reactive environment where detail matters, margins matter and discipline matters. You'll thrive here if you enjoy getting into the numbers, interrogating job costs, analysing margins and tightening controls - while influencing decisions in real time.
Reporting to the Financial Controller/Director, you'll be central to delivering accurate, timely and commercially relevant financial information across the Group.
Key Responsibilities
Preparation of monthly management accounts, including balance sheet reconciliations, journals, accruals, prepayments, WIP calculations, VAT returns and group reporting
Weekly cashflow forecasting and maintaining strong financial control and accuracy

Monitoring labour allocation, cost recovery and producing detailed job cost and margin analysis
Supporting budget reviews, reforecasts and developing meaningful financial KPIs
Acting as an early warning system to identify risks to margin and performance
Strengthening financial controls and improving processes within a high-volume environment
Enhancing reporting capability and supporting automation initiatives
Constructively challenging inefficiencies and building scalable, future-ready systems
Partnering with operational managers to translate financial data into clear commercial insight
Improving cost visibility across divisions and supporting ledger teams where required
Contributing to a collaborative, high-performing finance function and maintaining high standards throughout
